More trees in Quito and Ibarra

Quito - March 10, 2009

TREES ARE PLANTED IN IBARRA AND QUITO

As a way of replacing the trees that were cut out for Christmas, 50 of Solidario’s employees and their families planted 200 bougainvillea trees at the Ecological Park in Ibarra. The Mayor of Ibarra, Pablo Jurado was also there, as was María Rebeca Pazmiño, Financial Control VP, and other Officers from Quito.

With the same goal in mind, 300 trees were planted at Itchimbía Park in Quito, on Saturday, January 10th, 2009. 110 employees and their families congregated very early at the park’s small natural amphitheater in order to enjoy a puppet show called “El Barrio Sal Si Puedes” with community and environmental messages from the artistic group La Rana Sabia (photo). Afterwards they planted the trees.

The Social Responsibility Committee and many of Solidario’s employees have achieved the goal of planting one tree for each of the Bank’s employees. For 2009, the goal is to transport the planted trees to each of the cities where Solidario has branches.
