Total Security55% of the Bank's capital is from overseas, represented by the Inter-American Development Bank, the Andean Development Corporation, the World Bank, the US Development Agency and 23 other international investors, as well as a select group of local stockholders who believe in Ecuador and its future. The professional and integral administration of the Bank earned it a mention by the Inter-American Development Bank as one of the seven best micro-finance institutions in Spain and Latin America in the year 2001. Banco Solidario is the first Ecuadorian financial institution which has injected capital in cash since the 1999 crisis. This capitalization generated a rise of 65% in paid up capital and increased our equity by 30%, consolidating the institution's structure of solvency. The Healthiest Portfolio in the SystemContrary to popular belief about the capacity to pay of those who have least, our portfolio is the healthiest in the Ecuadorian financial system and without doubt the most diverse, since our average loan is US$ 1,274 per client. |
